Privacy Policy

Road Trip Ranger is made by Oldman AI Solutions Inc. in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada. If you have a question about your data, email greg@oldmanaisolutions.com.

• You can plan trips and print scavenger sheets without an account.
• We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising trackers.
• We do not build profiles of children. Kids' names and ages you type in are used only to make their printable sheets and are not stored on our servers unless you save a trip to an account.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Route requests

The places you type as a start and finish, and the party type (family, couple, solo). We use them to build your route and the places along it. Routes are stored as shared, anonymous corridors (for example, Calgary to Revelstoke) so the next traveller on the same road gets them instantly. A corridor is not tied to you.

A visitor cookie

A random id in a first-party cookie called rtr_vid. It lets us count how many brand-new routes a browser has planned this month (the free tier has a monthly limit) and ties a guest purchase to the browser that made it. It contains no personal information and is not shared with anyone.

Account details (optional)

If you create an account: your email address and a password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, Supabase), or your Google sign-in identity if you choose "Continue with Google". We use it to keep your access across devices and to send account emails such as password resets.

Purchase records

If you buy full access, Stripe processes the payment and tells us that it succeeded, the email you gave at checkout, and an order reference. We keep that so your purchase can be matched to your account (including if you bought as a guest and sign in later on another device).

Location (only on the Drive screen, only if you allow it)

The Drive screen asks your browser for your position so it can read a place aloud as you approach it. Your position is used on your device and in the request that fetches the next narration; we do not keep a history of where you have been.

Kids' names and ages (families only)

Used on your device and in the request that builds each child's age-appropriate scavenger sheet. They are not written to our database unless you save the trip to an account, and you can leave the name blank.

Basic server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page, errors) for a short period so we can keep the service running and fix problems.

Only the companies that run a part of the service for us, and only what that part needs:

• Vercel hosts the site.
• Supabase stores accounts, saved trips, and the shared corridor cache.
• Stripe processes payments.
• Anthropic receives the facts we already retrieved about a place (never your identity, location history, or children's details) to write the narration you hear.
• OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, and OSRM are public, open data services we query to find real places and routes. Requests carry the coordinates of the route, not who you are.

Some of these providers operate in the United States, so data may be processed outside Canada. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

Guest data lives only in your browser's cookie and in our short-lived server logs. Account data is kept until you delete your account. To delete your account and everything tied to it, or to get a copy of it, email greg@oldmanaisolutions.com from the address on the account and we will do it within 30 days.
