Road Trip Ranger

Draft. These terms describe how the product works today but have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. They will be finalised before public launch.

Terms of Use

Effective September 1, 2026 (draft)

The agreement

Road Trip Ranger is provided by Oldman AI Solutions Inc. ("we", "our"), a company in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada. By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Drive safely

The driver's job is driving. Road Trip Ranger is a passenger companion. Set up the route before you leave, let a passenger handle the screen, and use audio while moving. Never look at or touch the app while driving. Follow the law wherever you are.

What the app does, and what it does not promise

We show you real places from public sources (OpenStreetMap, Wikidata) and write a short narration about them. We work hard to only ever say things about a place that the source data supports, and we mark whether a place is open, closed, or unknown. Even so, hours change, roads close, and data has mistakes. Check before you drive somewhere, especially with children in the car. We are not responsible for a place being closed, moved, or different from its description.

The scavenger hunt and narration are for fun and learning. They are not a substitute for maps, navigation, or road-condition services.

Free use and full access

Anyone can plan a limited number of brand-new routes each month for free. Reopening a route you have already planned is always free and does not count.

Full access is a one-time payment, not a subscription. It gives you a larger monthly allowance of brand-new routes, currently shown on your account page, for as long as Road Trip Ranger operates. We may adjust the allowance to keep the service sustainable, and we will not lower it for existing purchasers without telling you. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars at checkout and include any applicable tax.

Refunds. If full access does not work for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it. [Placeholder: confirm the refund window before launch.]

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private. Accounts are for adults. A guest purchase is tied to the browser that made it until you add it to an account; we cannot recover a guest purchase if that browser's cookies are cleared and no email was given at checkout.

Fair use

Do not use automation to generate routes in bulk, try to bypass the monthly allowance, interfere with the service, or use the narration content to build a competing product. We may limit or suspend use that does.

Sponsorship

Some stretches of road may carry a funding credit from a regional sponsor. When they do, it is always labelled as such. Sponsors never influence which places we recommend.

Content and ownership

The narration, scavenger sheets, artwork and code are ours or licensed to us. You may print the scavenger sheets for your own family's use. Place data comes from open sources under their own licences (OpenStreetMap under ODbL, Wikidata under CC0).

Limits of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Road Trip Ranger is provided as is, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
